Look what you did! On this Giving Tuesday, we are giving thanks for our generous donors who allowed us to provide $37,539 in financial aid to students last year. Maybe your idea of fun isn’t reading a tax return, but our most recent annual Form 990 filed with the IRS reports the beautiful fact that BAAY students received that amount in the form of tuition assistance. This is all thanks to our supporters who want ALL children to have access to the arts, whether at our downtown Theatre or at local schools through our EduArts after-school enrichment programs.
To quote our most recently filed tax form:
“Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 – Our scholarship program is designed to ensure that every child who wishes to participate in our programs may do so, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. It is one of BAAY’s hallmarks that we have never turned any child away for financial reasons. We offer scholarships in the form of tuition reductions or waivers to students with demonstrated need; families can submit a Financial Assistance application along with their child’s regular class registration. We evaluate the applications on a case by case basis and award scholarships accordingly. Both individual scholarship recipients and donations to the Scholarship Fund are tracked internally. Scholarship awards range from 25%-100% of the tuition cost of any program.”
If you’d like to make a gift to help support local children access the arts, you can do so here at our Support page. We can’t wait to report on how much you’ve helped achieve next year!
