Accessibility

Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY) believes that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence. BAAY is committed to providing accessible services whenever possible and is proactive with the goal of improving accessibility over time.

Drop-off Locations

BAAY’s theatre does not have a dedicated parking lot. If available, patrons are welcome to use one of the loading zones outside our Maple Street or State Street entrances for drop-off.

Wheelchair Access

Our theatre is accessible by wheelchair through our Maple Street ramp entrance. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are located on the main floor. Due to the age of our building, we do not have an elevator or other wheelchair access to the second floor. Please contact us at info@baay.org if you have any questions.

Audience Seating

BAAY has a transformable seating area that allows for different accessible seating configurations. Please contact us at info@baay.org before your visit to inform us of your seating needs.

Sensory Items

BAAY provides sensory items for individuals who have sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation. Fidget tools and earplugs are available at the ticket counter by request.

Service Animals

Service animals that have been trained in specific tasks to assist a patron with their disability are welcome at BAAY. A service animal should be kept with its owner at all times and be seated in a manner that does not obstruct programming. Please note that a service animal that behaves in a manner that creates a disturbance may be required to leave the premises.

For any other special needs not covered above, please contact BAAY’s office at info@baay.org and we will do our best to accommodate you!
