Dylan Cisneros (he/him) has been a staff member at BAAY since 2022. He works primarily as a music director and teaches private voice lessons, but has also directed and written his own performance material.
One of his favorite experiences at BAAY has been the recent production of Sweeney Todd: School Edition.
“It was the first high school show that I solo directed, which was a lot of fun,” Dylan said. “It was hard, but we got there. It ended up being a really powerful show and a really moving show.”
Another memory that stands out was the production of Dylan’s original musical that BAAY put on in 2025. Farewell to the Hundred Acre Wood featured students ages 9-10 and brought classic Winnie the Pooh characters to life in a new story.
“It was really cute and I’m very proud of it,” Dylan said.
Dylan encourages any and all kids to join BAAY, and emphasized how uplifting the environment and community are.
“The thing that I love most about this job is that you almost never have a kid leaving BAAY feeling worse than when they got here,” Dylan said. “That’s true with the shows we do, with the classes that I’ve run. Kids come in and sometimes they’re not having such a good day, and almost every time, they leave feeling a little bit better — and I do too.”
