At BAAY, we believe arts education is basic education, and that ALL children deserve access to the arts. High-quality, child-centered arts instruction helps students to expand their awareness, imagination, and self-expression. It helps them develop skills like focus, discipline, resilience, empathy, creative problem-solving and community-building — in short, it is education for life. Yet, too often is this essential training overlooked or short-changed in our public schools due to budget cuts. BAAY helps to bridge that gap.

BAAY reaches over 1500 students every year and we welcome any child who wants to participate. Since we opened our doors in 2006, we’ve never turned a student away from programs at our downtown Theatre or our EduArts enrichment classes in local schools. In our 2023-2024 fiscal year, we awarded over $68,000 in financial aid to families.

We hope to continue this legacy of service and inclusion, but we can’t do it without YOUR help. Tuition and ticket sales account for approximately 74% of BAAY’s operating revenue; we rely on grants and community donations to make up the rest. Donation Impacts

$35 – Buys a student a private voice lesson.

$120 – Covers tuition for a student in an EduArts after-school enrichment class.

$500 – Covers tuition for a child in need to participate in a Theatre production.

$3,500 – Pays for show rights, allowing BAAY to produce and perform licensed shows.

Other – Every amount makes a difference. Whether you are buying hot glue sticks for our student costumers, or sponsoring an entire EduArts course in a Title I school, every gift improves access to the arts for local children.
