Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY) is looking for a choreographer to work with students ages 13-17 on our production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. This is a high-energy contemporary musical that is based on a beloved Young Adult book series.
Ideal candidates have a strong dance background and experience working with kids or teens. Experience with youth is preferred, but not required. This is a $15/hr employee position, and the full production schedule is listed below. The choreographer will not be called to every rehearsal, so specific scheduling will be determined in collaboration with BAAY staff.

Class meeting times include:
Auditions: February 18 from 5:30-7:30 PM and February 19 from 12:00-3:00 PM
Weekly Rehearsals: February 22 – June 12. Meets twice per week, on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 PM, plus two Saturday rehearsals. Note, no rehearsals 4/5 and 4/7.
Tech Weeks: May 30 – June 2 and June 6-9, 5:30-8:30 PM
Performances: June 3-5 and 10-12
Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts education organization that offers quality instruction in theater, choir, dance, music, and visual arts to youth ages 5-17. The mission of BAAY is to enrich children’s lives through the exploration of the arts. BAAY serves approximately 1400 children annually in our campus theatre, and in EduArts after-school enrichment classes in elementary schools throughout Whatcom County.
