Description: Have fun and learn a ton under the mentorship of BAAY’s Costuming Director, Dana Crediford! The Costume Crew (aka. SWAT — “students with a task”) is open to experienced students who have attended at least one prior session of a costuming class.
This group will not be tasked with designing and implementing costumes for a particular show. Instead, they will have optional weekly lab meetings with Dana and their peers to further their learning about the art of costuming and working as a team. Once BAAY’s spring production season begins in May, students will have the opportunity to sign up for costume run crew positions. This will provide hands-on experience volunteering backstage during tech weeks and at performances.
Note: Students have the option to attend the weekly lab and volunteer as crew members during production season, but are not required to attend everything.
Ages: 9-17 (by invitation)
Weekly lab: February 26 – April 29 (no lab during spring break, 4/1 – 4/5)
Mondays from 3:45-5:15 or 5:15-6:45 PM
Run crew: May 6 – June 16
By assignment depending on student availability and interest
Cost: Free!
How to register? This is a “by invitation” opportunity. Families must complete the registration for their child in order for them to be included on the Costume Crew (aka. SWAT) list. Feel free to email Dana to see if your child is ready for the Costume Crew.
