What does the BAAY Board do?

Founded in 2006, Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts education organization that offers quality instruction in theater, choir, dance, music, and visual arts to youth ages 5-17. BAAY’s Board of Directors are a group of individuals with a passion for enriching the lives of children through the exploration of the arts. BAAY programs create community, and teach children confidence, character, and creativity.

Board members are volunteer ambassadors and supporters of BAAY, and contribute what they can in donations and/or service. Board members attend monthly board meetings, participate in at least one committee, and attend some BAAY events. At board meetings, the group discusses how BAAY is doing, what staff and the board committees have been up to, and set goals to further the organization’s mission.
